Ummmm...
I just got an email saying Walter Koenig will be at Trek Expo the same days as Soonercon. Has he cancelled or will he just be driving back and forth the whole weekend?

We haven't made the official announcement yet, but at this point, it looks like Walter will not be coming to SoonerCon. We're in the process of booking some alternate media guests, and we'll make some announcements soon (hopefully within the next week or so) on this.
Thanks.

Why am I not surprised that this happens?!
That Tulsa show is nothing but a signing fest, no real dealers room no real panels and they with their big we have stars promotional tour that has actors who are fan favorites but the fans really can't interact with them like they can at a real con like Soonercon will be. Good luck on getting the media guest.
The other question is of all the dates to pick he picks this weekend that you have had set since last year? Is he just being a jerk?
Maybe you can intercept their travel plans and tell them that it is actually in OKC and not Tulsa?!

That is really shameful. Stealing another Cons guest is just the most childish thing i have seen. I always considered the Sci-Fi community one that respects and helps each other. Especially here in Oklahoma. Too see them working against SoonerCon really saddens me. I'll make sure to be at SoonerCon, the Con with HEART!

Double booking gigs is not cool.
Why are OKC and Tulsa not communicating better? There is no reason why these cons should be falling on the same weekend. Having them seperate would result in better attendence for both.
I would say both sides dropped the ball.
