Honestly, I wasn't impressed with Soonercon this year. The whole event seemed like a thinned down version of '07's event. Same old same old, minus quite a few things. A google search of blogs seems to have a recurring theme: '08 was boring.
Where were:
The LARP weapons vendors?
The LARPers in general?
The local comic shops?
The local game stores?
The Magic:The Gathering players?
YuGiOh kids?
The multitudes of fan clubs?
New panels with real authors, actors, etc.?
SCA?
Amtgard?
The Biltmore is big, but it's so spread out that nobody knows what's going on. I'd suggest the con look into a larger venue in the future where the dealers, game room, and stage can be all in one area together with a PA and emcee announcing what's going on for the weekend.
Sinnercon needs more content and less hype. People aren't there to see pasties.
I hope next year's event is bigger and better.

Sorry you weren't impressed, but you really seemed to be the exception not the rule. We had 4 local comic shops, more variety in exhibitors, a bigger guest list, bigger named authors, more programming, more gaming events, more performers, (steel edged sword fighters, belly dancers, and mermaids, oh my!), burlesque performers, photography workshops and more, there really was something for everyone. Haven't heard anything but "Great Show" and "SoonerCon Rocked", and that's all I seem to be able to find on Blogs.
Of course, we didn't pack 16 tables into the registration area this year, because last year it made it too crowded (and unsafe). Don't look for it next year either. Safety (fire safety precautions) trump everything else, so we won't be packing tables in that area.
We've alread gotten Eric Flint coming next year, and we've got verbals on 2 other major authors (which we can't announce yet until it's finalized).
As for Card gaming, such as YuGiOh, we didn't have those last year, and they probably won't happen. The card tournament seasons end in May, and there's little interest in Card Gaming at this time of year.
Out of curiosity, what is Amtgard?

That's fine. I'll be the exception then.
Amtgard is like SCA combat but fantasy. There is (or was) a group in Norman. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amtgard
